AMI REFUND & ACCESS POLICY

African Masterbuilders Institute (AMI)
Effective Date: 10 October 2026
Last Updated: 10 October 2026

—

African Masterbuilders Institute (“AMI”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to clear, fair and transparent purchase, refund and access arrangements.
This Policy applies to AMI courses, Business Plans, Construction Project Packs, Product Formulation Packs, SOP & Management System Packs, Digital Blueprints, implementation resources, digital tools, Custom Orders, Advisory services and other paid AMI products.
Nothing in this Policy limits any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. DIGITAL PRODUCT ACCESS

Most AMI products are digital and may become available immediately or shortly after successful payment.
Access may include:

  • online courses;
  • protected digital documents;
  • financial models;
  • templates;
  • calculators and simulators;
  • dashboards;
  • implementation resources;
  • downloadable files where enabled;
  • or browser-based tools.

Access periods vary by product and are stated on the applicable sales page, checkout page, enrolment information, quotation or proposal.
Unless specifically stated as Lifetime Access, access should not be assumed to be permanent.
2. STANDARD REFUND REQUEST PERIOD
For eligible standard AMI digital products, refund requests should ordinarily be submitted within:
7 CALENDAR DAYS OF PURCHASE
  • A request within this period does not automatically guarantee a refund.
  • AMI will review:
  • whether the product was successfully delivered;
  • whether substantial content has already been accessed;
  • whether files have been downloaded;
  • the reason for the request;
  • whether an identified issue can be corrected;
  • and any applicable legal rights.

3. WHEN AMI WILL NORMALLY CONSIDER A REFUND

Refunds may be considered where:
Duplicate Payment
The same transaction was charged more than once.
Payment Received but Access Not Delivered
Payment was completed but AMI cannot provide the purchased access within a reasonable period.
Material Technical Failure
A significant technical problem prevents reasonable use of the product and cannot be resolved within a reasonable period.
Material Misdescription
The delivered product materially differs from the description provided at the time of purchase.
Unauthorised Transaction
A transaction is reasonably demonstrated to have been made without proper authorisation.
Where Required by Law
Applicable consumer-protection law requires a refund or other remedy.

4. WHEN A REFUND MAY BE DECLINED

Subject to mandatory consumer rights, AMI may decline a refund where:

  • substantial portions of the product have already been used;
  • downloadable materials have been substantially downloaded;
  • the product was delivered and functions substantially as described;
  • the customer simply changes their mind after significant use;
  • the customer expected an outcome or feature not promised by AMI;
  • the customer later decides not to implement the purchased resource;
  • external financing, investment, regulatory approval or commercial results are not achieved;
  • or the request falls outside the applicable refund period without another valid legal or contractual basis.

5. COURSES

AMI courses may include:
  • video lessons;
  • reading materials;
  • assessments;
  • certificates where applicable;
  • templates;
  • calculators;
  • interactive tools;
  • implementation resources;
  • and support features.
Refund consideration may take into account the amount of course content already accessed or completed.
Course certificates are subject to the completion requirements stated for the relevant programme.

6. BUSINESS PLANS, PACKS & DIGITAL RESOURCES

AMI Business Plans, Construction Packs, Product Formulation Packs, SOP & Management System Packs and Digital Blueprints may contain substantial proprietary digital content.
These may include:

  • models;
  • reports;
  • spreadsheets;
  • dashboards;
  • SOPs;
  • templates;
  • project documentation;
  • calculators;
  • simulations;
  • checklists;
  • implementation guides;
  • and other protected resources.

Once substantial content has been accessed or downloaded, discretionary refunds will generally be less likely unless the product is defective, materially misdescribed or otherwise subject to a valid legal remedy.

7. CUSTOM ORDERS & ADVISORY SERVICES

Custom Orders are governed by the agreed:
  • scope;
  • quotation;
  • deliverables;
  • payment terms;
  • milestones;
  • timeline;
and project-specific conditions.

Before Substantive Work Begins
AMI may consider cancellation subject to work already completed and any reasonable, disclosed, non-recoverable costs.

After Work Begins
Amounts attributable to research, modelling, drafting, design, customization, advisory or other work already performed are generally not refundable.

After Delivery
Completed custom work is not ordinarily refundable merely because the client changes direction or decides not to use the deliverables.
This does not affect remedies available where AMI materially fails to provide an agreed service.

8. SUBSCRIPTIONS

Where AMI offers subscription-based access:
  • cancellation prevents future renewals in accordance with the applicable subscription terms;
  • access may continue until the end of the paid billing period;
  • cancellation does not automatically create a refund for previous billing periods.

9. PERSONAL & NON-TRANSFERABLE ACCESS

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, individual AMI purchases are for the purchaser’s authorized personal or internal business use.

Users must not:
  • share login credentials;
  • resell access;
  • redistribute protected resources;
  • publish paid AMI materials publicly;
  • circumvent platform restrictions;
  • or provide unauthorised third-party access.

    Organisations requiring team or multi-user access should obtain the appropriate AMI arrangement.

10. DOWNLOADS, PRINTING & PROTECTED CONTENT

Not all AMI resources are downloadable, printable or copyable.
Some products may be:

  • view-only;
  • embedded;
  • browser-based;
  • protected from copying;
  • or available only through the AMI learning environment.

    Where this is part of the intended access method, the absence of a download function does not by itself make the product defective.

11. TECHNICAL ACCESS

AMI uses third-party technology providers to deliver digital services.
Temporary interruptions may occasionally occur due to:
  • maintenance;
  • internet connectivity;
  • browser or device issues;
  • platform updates;
  • third-party outages;
  • or circumstances beyond AMI’s reasonable control.
    Where a material access problem is within AMI’s control, AMI will make reasonable efforts to restore access or provide an appropriate remedy.

12. REFUND METHOD

Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method where reasonably possible.
  • Processing time may depend on:
  • the payment processor;
  • issuing bank;
  • card network;
  • wallet provider;
  • currency route;
  • or other financial intermediary.

    AMI cannot control settlement times after an approved refund has been properly submitted.

13. CHARGEBACKS

Customers are encouraged to contact AMI Support before initiating a chargeback so that legitimate payment or access issues can be investigated.
Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in suspension or termination of access where appropriate.
Nothing in this clause restricts a lawful right to dispute an unauthorised or improper transaction.

14. HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND

Send your request to:
support@africanmasterbuildersinstitute.com
Use the subject:
  • REFUND REQUEST
  • Include:
  • full name;
  • email used for purchase;
  • product or course title;
  • transaction or order reference;
  • purchase date;
  • reason for the request;
  • and relevant supporting evidence.
Never send your card PIN, OTP, banking password or full card details.

15. REFUND REVIEW

After review, AMI may:
  • approve a refund;
  • decline the request with an explanation;
  • request further information;
  • restore or extend access;
  • correct a technical issue;
  • replace a defective resource;
  • re-perform a service;
  • or offer another appropriate remedy.
The appropriate response depends on the circumstances of the case.

16. CONSUMER RIGHTS

Nothing in this Policy is intended to override mandatory rights available under applicable consumer-protection law.

Where local law grants a customer rights that are more favourable than this Policy, those mandatory rights will apply.
